Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) - On December 3, 2025, the Jiangsu Provincial Catering Industry Association released the "2025 Jiangsu Snack Consumption Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. The Report shows that the Jiangsu snack market is expected to reach 155 billion yuan in 2025, becoming a core growth driver in the catering sub-sector. Among them, local specialty snacks have seen a strong rise, with consumers showing a particularly strong pursuit of local delicacies, making local specialty snacks a "ballast" for catering consumption.
The Jiangsu Provincial Catering Industry Association's analysis found that in 2025, the Jiangsu snack industry continued to grow, with consumption showing a diversified pattern, distinct regional snack characteristics, and the integration of industry innovation practices with various scenarios.
This year, the Jiangsu snack industry, riding the wave of cultural, sports, and tourism integration, has become a core growth driver in the catering market. Among these initiatives, a series of themed activities such as "Suzhou Supermarket + Noodle Supermarket" made hometown noodles a hot search topic, and local specialty snacks gained popularity. The "spindle-shaped" consumption structure has strengthened, and green consumption has become mainstream. Jiangsu's local snacks have developed distinctive flavor profiles. For example, southern Jiangsu is known for its refined flavors, central Jiangsu is focusing on its morning tea brand, and northern Jiangsu emphasizes its "down-to-earth" and vibrant local cuisine, integrating these with urban cultural experiences to further boost Jiangsu's snack consumption.
Addressing issues such as the need for improved standards in Jiangsu's snack industry and the need to enhance the digitalization level of some small and medium-sized stores, the report recommends: formulating local snack production standards; deepening the integration of culture and tourism with digital technology to create snack-themed micro-travel routes; and strengthening green transformation to promote the digitalization and green development of Jiangsu's snack industry.
