Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced on August 15th that in the first half of this year, Chongzuo City, Guangxi's largest foreign trade city, continued to improve its port clearance efficiency. The land border ports saw a total of 500,700 vehicle entries and exits, a year-on-year increase of 33.76%; the railway ports saw 2,300 train entries and exits, a year-on-year increase of 155.56%. Chongzuo City's total foreign trade import and export volume reached 133.54 billion yuan (RMB), playing a crucial role in stabilizing Guangxi's foreign trade.
From August 14th to 15th, Yang Chunting, Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, led a team to Chongzuo City to conduct a special investigation on the stabilization of foreign trade and the operation of the commercial economy. The team studied and refined measures to solve practical difficulties and promote high-quality development of the local port economy through regional and municipal collaboration.
Chongzuo City has several counties (cities) bordering Vietnam, including Daxin, Ningming, Longzhou, and Pingxiang, with a border line of 533 kilometers, serving as a major land route from China to ASEAN. To ensure the stability of cross-border industrial and supply chains, Guangxi has strengthened overall coordination this year, focusing on key areas and urgent issues related to the construction, management, and services of ports in Chongzuo City. This includes optimizing and improving management levels, establishing an emergency congestion relief mechanism for ports, and ensuring smooth customs clearance for key products and enterprises.
Simultaneously, Guangxi is promoting innovation in the management system and mechanisms of key ports in Chongzuo, accelerating the construction of hardware and software facilities at the Friendship Pass-Friendship International Port, and achieving "one-stop" customs clearance with "multi-card integration and joint inspection and release." Guangxi is also focusing on improving the throughput capacity of the Chongzuo Aidian Port and Shuikou Port, making good use of channels such as Puzhai-Xinqing and Nongyao-Gunan to promote the diversion of import and export goods and better serve foreign trade development.
Furthermore, Guangxi is accelerating the construction of smart ports in Chongzuo, issuing the "Overall Plan for the Construction of Smart Ports in Guangxi," and accelerating the construction of smart port projects in batches and categories, expanding the application scenarios of artificial intelligence in ports. Currently, the key project of the Friendship Pass-Friendship Smart Port has been basically completed, and the Guangxi Smart Port Command and Dispatch Platform has been put into trial operation.
Next, Guangxi will continue to optimize its business environment, promote the "one platform, three markets" model for border trade, focus on copper concentrate processing trade services, and take multiple measures to promote stable and high-quality foreign trade. Guangxi will also accelerate the construction of smart ports, leverage the role of open industrial parks as platforms, better serve key foreign investment projects, and build a new highland for opening up and cooperation with ASEAN.
