Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, aims to begin construction on Metro Line 2 by 2025.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) November 3 – The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Committee launched a 60-day competition (from November 1 to December 31, 2025) to complete key tasks of the Metro Line 2 (Ban Thanh-Tham Luong section) construction project and strive to commence construction in 2025 in preparation for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

  Key tasks include completing project adjustments, selecting EPC contractors, supervision and project management contractors, and initiating metro construction. Metro Line 2 is over 11 kilometers long, with over 9 kilometers underground, and has 10 stations (9 underground and 1 elevated).

  The project comprises 8 main construction sections. Section CP1 (construction of the Tham Luong depot office building and ancillary facilities) has been completed and put into use. The remaining sections are undergoing updates and adjustments. The total investment for the project is VND 47.89 trillion, mainly from official development assistance loans, but has now been transferred to municipal government investment and the construction scale has been expanded. In September of this year, the Urban Railway Management Committee approved the winning bids for the project's feasibility study adjustments, FEED design, and consulting services. The winning bidders are a consortium of Guangzhou Metro Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Southern Transportation Design & Consulting Co., Ltd., and ARTELA SAS Port & Ocean Engineering Design & Consulting Co., Ltd.
