According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Vietnam's tea exports reached approximately 12,000 tons in October 2025, with an export value of about US$20.9 million. In the first ten months of the year, the country's total tea exports exceeded 109,000 tons, with an export value of US$188.2 million, representing year-on-year decreases of 10.2% and 11.2%, respectively. The average export price of tea was US$1,723.4 per ton, a decrease of 1.1% compared to the same period last year.

Despite facing difficulties, some markets still showed positive signs. Pakistan, Taiwan (China), and mainland China remained Vietnam's three largest tea export markets, accounting for 41.2%, 11.5%, and 9.2% of total exports, respectively. Notably, exports to Pakistan decreased by 7.1%, while exports to Taiwan (China) and mainland China both saw slight increases, at 2.9% and 3.2%, respectively.

However, the Vietnamese tea industry still faces many challenges. To overcome the predicament of low output and low value, Vietnamese tea producers and processors need to promote deeper processing and diversify their products, particularly by transitioning to organic production methods. This is seen as a key path to increasing export prices, building high-quality Vietnamese tea brands, raising tea farmers' incomes, and achieving sustainable development amidst intensifying global competition.
