Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, together with the China International Import Expo Bureau, the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, and the Jiushi Group, jointly held the launch ceremony for the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) "CIIE Special Line" on the 29th.
To further expand the influence and public awareness of the CIIE, Shanghai launched the No. 71 "CIIE Special Line" before the opening of the 7th CIIE, achieving good results. In November 2024, nearly 500 trips were made, with a total of over 56,000 passengers.
This year, the "CIIE Special Line" has been further expanded and upgraded. The new fleet consists of one full-route No. 71 bus, three No. 71 branch line buses, and four trolleybuses (routes 15, 19, 23, and 24). The exterior design of the special line vehicles features "CIIE Blue" as the main color, with the theme "CIIE Exclusive, Overflowing Linkage," showcasing famous Shanghai landmarks such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, and the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art.
Eight "CIIE Special Lines" shuttle buses traverse Shanghai from east to west, providing CIIE exhibitors with convenient transportation between the Bund and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). These buses also cruise along the city's main commercial arteries, connecting popular shopping districts such as Huaihai Road, Jing'an Temple, Xujiahui, and the North Bund, bringing the energy and vitality of the CIIE to every corner of the city.
Li Hong, a second-level inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, stated at the launch ceremony that he hoped domestic and international guests would fully appreciate the charm of Shanghai through these mobile scenic routes.
In addition to continuing the "CIIE Special Lines," during the 8th CIIE, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and other departments also focused on "cultural and tourism integration," planning and launching five major themes and over 80 high-quality tourism projects and exclusive offers; and focused on "event integration," holding 50 events including the 2025 Shanghai "Import Shopping Festival" and "National Commodity Culture Month," further amplifying the spillover effects of the CIIE.
