Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 10th Nanjing Orchid Exhibition, themed "Orchid Ties Between Fujian and Taiwan, Fragrance Spreads Worldwide," opened on the 25th in Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, known as the "Hometown of Chinese Orchids." Nearly a thousand orchid enthusiasts from home and abroad gathered for this grand orchid event.

The three-day event featured two exhibition areas: an orchid exhibition and a Nanjing specialty agricultural products exhibition. Over 1,000 potted orchids of high-quality native Chinese varieties were on display, attracting more than 100 Taiwanese attendees, including Yang Jun'an.

On the same day, the orchid associations of Taiwan and Nanjing County signed a friendly exchange agreement. In the future, both sides will focus on exchanging and cooperating on cultivation techniques within the native Chinese orchid system, benefiting orchid farmers on both sides of the strait.

Yang Jun'an stated that the mainland orchid industry, supported by e-commerce and technology, is attracting more and more young orchid farmers. With the improvement of people's living standards and aesthetic appreciation, the mainland flower industry is developing well and has a bright future. He hopes that young orchid farmers on both sides of the strait can deepen exchanges and visits in the future, strengthening complementary advantages.

Nanjing County has been one of the main production areas of Cymbidium ensifolium and Cymbidium sinense in China since ancient times, and is one of the four major orchid origin areas in China. Nanjing is also a major ancestral home for Taiwanese compatriots. As early as the 1980s, many Taiwanese crossed the strait to cultivate the orchid industry in Nanjing. In 2024, the Nanjing Taiwan Farmers' Entrepreneurial Park was approved and established. The park focuses on orchids and Anoectochilus roxburghii (Golden Thread Orchid) as its leading industries, with a planned total area of 980 square kilometers, aiming to create a model for agricultural industry cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan.

To address the problems of difficulty in distinguishing genuine products from counterfeit ones and lack of transparency in origin information in the orchid market, the unveiling ceremony of the China (Nanjing) Orchid Quality Traceability Center was also held on the same day. Using quantum encryption technology as its core, each Nanjing orchid will be given a unique "digital ID card," achieving precise traceability throughout its entire life cycle from breeding, cultivation, distribution to consumption.
