Vietnam takes multiple measures to create a festive atmosphere for the Lunar New Year, with various cultural activities

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) With the Lunar New Year of the Horse (2026) approaching, various cultural activities are being held across Vietnam, filling the city with a festive and peaceful atmosphere.

  On the evening of February 12th (the 25th day of the 12th lunar month), the 46th Ho Chi Minh City Spring Flower Show officially opened at Sao Dan Park. Themed "Spring Gathering – Steady Progress," this year's show is hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Covering an area of ​​9.6 hectares, the exhibition will run until February 22nd (the sixth day of the 1st lunar month).

  At the opening ceremony, Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, stated that the Spring Flower Show is not only a platform for displaying flowers and bonsai, but has also become the "soul of the Lunar New Year" in the hearts of the citizens of Ho Chi Minh City. The flower show brings together traditional cultural values, connects history and the present, and carries the citizens' beautiful expectations for the New Year.

  In addition to creating distinctive Lunar New Year landscapes, this year's flower show also features thousands of works by artists from Ho Chi Minh City and other parts of Vietnam, encompassing orchids, bonsai, yellow plum blossoms, art ceramics, and landscape bonsai. The eveningly international equestrian performance parade is a new highlight of this year's show.

  Bui Xuan Cuong pointed out that each floral artwork is a crystallization of creativity and craftsmanship, vividly showcasing the vibrant, innovative, and enterprising spirit of the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

  Maria González, a Spanish tourist visiting Vietnam for the first time, said after visiting the flower show: "I had only seen Vietnamese Lunar New Year in photos before. Experiencing it firsthand, I can better appreciate the close connection between people, nature, and traditional culture here. The Year of the Horse mascots and floral artworks are uniquely crafted, conveying good wishes for the future. This is a very special cultural experience for me during my trip."

  On the same day, the Hai Phong City 2026 Lunar New Year Newspaper Exhibition and 2025 Socio-Economic and Social Development Achievements Photo Exhibition officially opened. The event, jointly organized by the Hai Phong Journalists Association, the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Hai Phong Newspaper and Broadcasting Television, celebrated the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 96th anniversary of the establishment of the Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee, the successful convening of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and welcomed the Lunar New Year of the Horse.

  The exhibition showcased hundreds of Lunar New Year newspapers and periodicals from Hai Phong and across the country, along with hundreds of themed photographs. It presented a multi-dimensional view of the local socio-economic development achievements, the Party and State policies, and highlighted the spirit of unity and solidarity among the people of the nation. It also demonstrated the vigorous development of Hai Phong's news industry and provided a platform for exchange, learning, and experience sharing among various news media organizations.
