Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the evening of February 3rd, coinciding with the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the upcoming Lunar New Year in 2026, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in conjunction with the magazine *Communism*, *Nhan Dan* newspaper, Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Journalists Association, jointly held the 10th "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Award Ceremony and Outstanding Party Branch Secretary Commendation Conference at the Hoan Kiem Theater in Hanoi. This event aimed to strengthen Party building efforts and highlight the mission of propaganda work.
It is reported that this year's "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Award received 2,296 entries. After rigorous review by the final judging committee, 6 first prizes, 13 second prizes, 18 third prizes, 35 merit awards, and 10 special awards were selected to recognize outstanding works and creators in the field of Party building propaganda.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh personally attended the award ceremony and presented awards to the six first-prize winners from the People's Army Newspaper, Labor Newspaper, VietnamPlus e-newspaper, Voice of Vietnam Radio, Vietnam News Agency, and Vietnam Television. Vietnam News Agency stood out, winning four awards, including two first prizes, one second prize, and one excellence award, making it one of the winners of this year's competition.
In his address, Le Minh Hung, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Head of the Organization Department of the Central Committee, and Chairman of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Steering Committee, stated that 2026 marks the beginning of the implementation of the resolutions of the 14th CPC National Congress. The 14th CPC National Congress, a new milestone in the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam, has charted the course for the country's future development. Currently, the work of party building and political system construction faces high standards and requirements, necessitating continuous strengthening of party building, rectification, and self-renewal to create a morally upright and civilized political party, continuously enhancing the party's governing capacity and combat effectiveness, and contributing to achieving the development goal set by the 14th CPC National Congress of double-digit average annual economic growth from 2026 to 2030.
Le Minh Hung pointed out that starting in 2026, the national commendation activity for outstanding party branch secretaries will be held regularly, annually. This fully reflects the Party's care, trust, and high expectations for the party branch secretary team—as the core force of grassroots party organizations, party branch secretaries are a crucial foundation for consolidating the purity and enhancing the combat effectiveness of grassroots party organizations.
He emphasized that Party committees and organizations at all levels should accelerate the implementation of the resolutions of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, institutionalizing and concretizing their spirit. Every Party committee, every Party organization, and every Party member, especially Party branch secretaries, must truly achieve the transformation from ideological agreement to practical action, translating firm political resolve into solid work results. At the same time, journalists should serve as a bridge connecting the Party's will with the people's hearts, accurately conveying the Party's line, policies, and resolutions, building social consensus, and gathering the powerful force of national unity to safeguard Party building and national development.
