Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On February 1st, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a delegation to the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) to inspect the rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the first Spring Expo 2026 and to supervise the final preparations for the event.
Accompanying him were Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Exhibition Steering Committee Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai, and representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Hanoi People's Committee, among other relevant units, working together to ensure the successful implementation of the expo's preparations.
As of the afternoon of February 1st, preparations for the expo were essentially complete. Goods were displayed in an orderly manner at each booth, with some booths exceeding 90% completion, ensuring full readiness for the opening ceremony. According to the organizing committee, a "rolling progress" model was adopted during the site setup phase, with construction teams simultaneously carrying out framework construction and technical system improvements. While compressing the construction period, strict safety and construction quality were ensured, with progress tracked hourly to guarantee efficient implementation of the preparations.
Preparations for the various themed exhibition areas are nearing completion: In the OCOP products, local specialties, and featured agricultural products exhibition areas, booths from various regions are being finalized, with officials dispatched from multiple regions to supervise on-site work, and design units collaborating to accurately showcase brand recognition and local cultural characteristics; in the "Prosperous New Year" exhibition area overseen by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, products from major brand enterprises are all in place; in the "Vietnam Agricultural Products – Springtime Splendor" exhibition area overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, goods are being rapidly filled into the uniformly constructed and decorated booths; in the "Springtime Homecoming – Local Products" exhibition area, representative products from various regions are being rapidly installed, promising a unique and attractive feast of local produce for visitors.
The opening ceremony of the first Spring Expo 2026 is scheduled for 9:00 AM on February 2nd, featuring a spectacular artistic performance by renowned singers including My Linh, Phuc Thanh, Dong Er, Bao Zan, and My Anh.
The expo, themed "Connecting Prosperity – Welcoming the Lunar New Year," is a large-scale trade promotion event guided by the government, spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and jointly organized with other ministries and local governments. It will be held from February 2nd to 13th at the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Dong Anh District, Hanoi. As a key event during the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the expo will focus on stimulating consumption, cultivating the domestic market, and promoting Vietnamese brands, becoming a significant highlight of the Lunar New Year consumer market.
