
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of January 25th, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) To Lam met in Hanoi with ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad who had returned home to attend the 14th National Congress of the CPV, outlining key priorities for foreign affairs after the Congress.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the 14th CPV Congress was a complete success, establishing a clear and implementable development path and a strategic mindset guided by a century-long vision. He noted that personnel and organizational work demonstrated Party unity, boosted domestic confidence, and garnered high attention and congratulations from the international community, highlighting Vietnam's enhanced international standing. He suggested that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expedite the formulation of an action plan to implement the Congress resolutions, strengthen international situation analysis, enhance decision-making and advisory effectiveness, and earnestly fulfill international commitments.
General Secretary To Lam elaborated on the core points and strategic direction of the 14th CPV Congress resolutions, explicitly placing "promoting foreign affairs and international integration" alongside national defense and security as a major strategic and ongoing task for the Party and the State. He stressed that strategic autonomy and self-reliance are fundamental cornerstones, showcasing Vietnam's national spirit and development aspirations after 40 years of reform.
To Lam set forth clear requirements for ambassadors stationed abroad, emphasizing the need to uphold national and ethnic interests, embody a spirit of dedication, innovation, pragmatism, and responsibility, and formulate action plans closely aligned with the Party Congress's foreign policy direction. He stressed the importance of accurately assessing the international and host country situations, mitigating risks, and seizing opportunities; prioritizing economic and technological diplomacy, playing a bridging role in the implementation of key national technologies and major projects; showcasing a responsible image of Vietnam in the new era; strengthening the dissemination of national soft power and work with overseas Vietnamese communities; and uniting efforts for development.
Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will fully implement the 14th Party Congress's foreign policy direction, expedite the formulation of concrete action plans, and ensure the effective implementation of the Congress's resolutions.
