Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The historic floods from November 16th to 22nd caused severe damage to the Central Highlands region. In this critical moment, military forces arrived promptly to provide assistance, becoming a solid support for the affected people in rebuilding their homes.

  Overall Reconstruction Deployment

To implement the requirements of the "Kuang Chung" campaign, the Ministry of National Defense has mobilized 5,627 officers and soldiers (including 5,526 military personnel and 101 militia members) and 254 pieces of various equipment to fully advance the construction of 382 houses for disaster victims, striving to complete all projects before the Lunar New Year of 2026 (Year of the Horse).

  On-site Construction Challenges

In Phu Huu village, Hoa Thanh commune, Dak Lak province, officers and soldiers of the 315th Division of the 5th Military Region are assisting in the construction of 16 houses. Facing soil saturation and construction difficulties caused by continuous rainfall, the troops adhere to the principle of "work continues despite the rain," advancing multiple processes simultaneously to ensure "speed and practicality, urgency and stability." 79-year-old Fan Wenqing's four houses collapsed, causing severe property damage. He choked back tears as he thanked the troops, saying, "Without you, we really don't know what we would have done." According to the schedule, the flood-proof attic in his house will be completed in two to three days.

Due to inconvenient transportation to some construction sites, soldiers had to carry building materials on their shoulders and walk more than a kilometer to reach the site. The troops divided the 16 houses into four clusters, working day and night. When it rained, they set up tarpaulins to work. The "military craftsmen" team performed their duties efficiently, completing tasks such as mixing concrete and building walls. Soldiers from the Fifth Military Region's Logistics and Technical Bureau also built a house for Chen Shiyue's family in the drizzle. Even though most of them had no construction experience, they quickly mastered the skills with a sense of responsibility and willpower, adhering to the spirit of "treating heavy rain as light rain and light rain as no rain."

Multi-party collaboration is underway. After completing its typhoon relief mission, the Da Nang Military Command quickly mobilized nearly 500 soldiers and regular militia members to form a housing construction team to assist Dak Lak province. The focus was on repairing and rebuilding 275 damaged houses, prioritizing families receiving government assistance and those in need.

The 5th Military Region initially dispatched 80 construction teams (12-15 people per team) to the disaster area. Due to unexpected losses, an additional 213 houses were rebuilt in Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa provinces. The military region collaborated with local Ministry of National Defense units, mobilizing thousands of soldiers and hundreds of pieces of equipment. Working with local party committees and governments, they precisely addressed needs, accelerating progress through scientific organization and efficient coordination. Local governments provided detailed information and conducted technical monitoring to ensure construction quality.

Furthermore, various military units organized visits to impoverished residents and frontline personnel, conveying warmth and support while assisting with housing construction.

Military and civilians unite to welcome the Spring Festival. New homes are nearing completion, becoming a special New Year's gift to our disaster-stricken compatriots. This not only allows everyone to celebrate the festival warmly, but also demonstrates the profound friendship and sense of responsibility of the "Uncle Ho's troops" in fighting disasters and overcoming difficulties alongside the people, further strengthening the bond between the military and the people.
