
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a report by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Havana, on December 2nd, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung and the Vietnamese delegation, during a working visit to Cuba, attended a ceremony commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba, held by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Vistaa Leggeri, Jaruco County, Mayabek Province.
At the ceremony, Ho Quoc Dung, on behalf of the Vietnamese Party and State, extended warm congratulations to the Cuban Party and State leaders and people, and reviewed the important milestones in bilateral relations.
He emphasized that the Vietnam-Cuba relationship is a precious shared asset of the two peoples and a model of international relations; in the future, the two countries should further promote the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance, firmly embark on the path of independence and self-reliance, continuously deepen political mutual trust, and promote deeper and more practical cooperation in all fields. Both countries should continue to work hand in hand, share experiences, help each other overcome difficulties, and jointly achieve sustainable development, elevating bilateral relations to a new level. This will be a precious legacy carefully cultivated by successive leaders, including President Ho Chi Minh and Cuban Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, and by the people of both countries, contributing to building a fair, civilized, and progressive world.
Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic of Cuba, reiterated Fidel Castro's famous quote, "Cuba is willing to shed its blood for Vietnam," and emphasized that Vietnam and Cuba have overcome many difficulties together, establishing an exemplary friendship and solidarity.
Looking back on 2025, Cuban leaders believe that bilateral relations have been successful in the past year, positively impacting the economic and social development of both countries and reflecting the special solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.
Within the framework of the commemorative ceremony, the two leaders jointly witnessed the handover of aid funds, marking the launch of the second round of the Vietnam Red Cross's support activities for the Cuban people under the theme of "65th Anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship."
Subsequently, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, along with officials from both countries, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a grant-aided solar power plant project in Cuba. This project is expected to help Cuba overcome its current energy difficulties.
According to the plan, Vietnam will support Cuba in constructing four solar power plants (total installed capacity of 80 MW) and a 20 MW energy storage container in Mayabek Province. (End)
