Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Can Tho City, with its central location in the Mekong Delta and its advantageous position for hosting large-scale sporting events, possesses immense potential to showcase its urban charm and promote tourism through sporting activities.

Can Tho City recently successfully hosted the 2025 Asian Esports Championship (ECA 2025), attracting over 100 participants, a referee team from China, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam, and numerous esports enthusiasts.

This was the first time an esports event was held in Vietnam. The event not only demonstrated Can Tho City's ability to host international competitions but also provided a significant opportunity to promote the development of the digital cultural and entertainment industry, strengthen international cooperation, enhance the city's image, and showcase Can Tho's potential as a vibrant and creative city, blending tradition and modernity.

According to the organizing committee, the participation of international players and spectators from both within and outside the city allowed this event to combine esports with digital sports and cultural tourism promotion, boosting local business activities and helping to project the image of Can Tho City and Vietnam as a whole as vibrant and creative in the digital age. In the first 10 months of this year, Can Tho City hosted eight sporting events and games, with nearly 15,000 athletes participating and approximately 52,000 spectators and cheerleaders. The city received nearly 10 million tourists, with nearly 4.5 million staying overnight. Total tourism revenue is projected to exceed VND 8.67 trillion. (End)
