  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 14, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh U met with Pauline Tamesis, UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters to exchange views on important development decisions for Vietnam in various fields. These decisions are reflected in the draft document of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and are currently undergoing extensive public consultation.

  Nguyen Minh U emphasized the significant political importance of the 14th National Congress in summarizing 40 years of reform and development and shaping the national development vision.

  He stated that the Congress document was carefully prepared and contains much new content. Some key directions proposed include: adjusting the growth model structure; accelerating industrialization and modernization; comprehensively promoting digital transformation; improving the efficiency of the state-owned economy; leveraging the driving force of the private sector; promoting breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation; further streamlining organizational structures; and clearly defining "people" as the center, subject, and goal of all development policies.

  Nguyen Minh U thanked the United Nations for its companionship and support in Vietnam's development process and expressed his hope that UN development agencies and international experts would continue to contribute their knowledge and experience to advise on the aforementioned directions. Pauline Tamesis, UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam, congratulated Vietnam on its significant socio-economic development achievements in recent years and expressed admiration for Vietnam's comprehensive development vision and long-term strategic perspective outlined in the draft document of the General Assembly. She highly praised Vietnam's progress in implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and expressed confidence that Vietnam will continue to achieve breakthroughs in the new era of development, playing an increasingly important role in regional and global cooperation mechanisms.

  Representatives from various UN agencies in Vietnam also offered several assessments and recommendations aimed at supporting Vietnam in optimizing its development opportunities. They expressed confidence in Vietnam's long-term growth prospects and emphasized that the strategic directions and policy priorities outlined in the draft document will continue to lay a solid foundation for Vietnam's deep integration into the international community and the achievement of rapid and sustainable development.

  Nguyen Minh Du highly appreciated the objective and substantive assessments and cooperation recommendations from various UN agencies. He stressed that Vietnam shares the same vision with the UN: placing the people at the center of all development processes. Nguyen Minh Du believes that the cooperation, support, and constructive recommendations of the UN and international organizations will continue to play a vital role in helping Vietnam achieve its future development goals.
