Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 11th, Da Nang City unified the adoption of a proposal to invest in computing infrastructure to support chip semiconductor design and artificial intelligence (AI) research and development projects. The total investment for this project is estimated at over 200 billion VND (approximately 54 million RMB), funded by the city's budget.
The Da Nang City People's Committee stated that in the context of the global advancement into the era of artificial intelligence and semiconductors, computing power is becoming a key factor determining the competitive position of countries and the city.
Da Nang City, aiming to become an innovation and high-tech center in the central region, has issued several important resolutions and policies regarding human resources, infrastructure, and enterprise development in the fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductors. To implement these resolutions, sufficiently robust infrastructure, namely high-performance computing (HPC) systems, is required.
Investing in HPC is not merely a technological project, but a strategically decisive move that lays the foundation for Da Nang to achieve breakthroughs in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence fields. HPC will help the city master technology, nurture startups, attract investment, and simultaneously address socio-economic challenges.
The project will also facilitate investment attraction, supporting innovative startups, microchip, semiconductor, and artificial intelligence companies in the Second Software Park; it will also connect with universities in the city to support research and training in microchip design and artificial intelligence.
According to the plan, the project will be located in the data center area on the second floor of the ICT building in the Haizhoufang Second Software Park. The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2028. (End)
