Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2025 Asian Media Leaders Summit was held in Singapore from November 5th to 6th. Hosted by the World Association of Newspapers and Press Publishers (WAN-IFRA), the summit provided a platform for media leaders from Asia and around the world to exchange information, share knowledge, and learn. VietnamPlus, the news website of the Vietnam News Agency, won the "Best Integrated News Chart" award (Chart category) and received high praise from the conference organizing committee.
As a major event for media leaders and experts from both within and outside the region, the fifth conference discussed the urgent strategic issues facing the media industry and shared the knowledge and experience of leading media experts in various thematic workshops.
During the summit, WAN-IFRA awarded prizes to outstanding works selected from 228 submissions from 41 media organizations in 17 countries. VietnamPlus's work, "A Heroic Epic for the Reunification of the Motherland," won the "Best Integrated News Chart" award.
The artwork, "A Heroic Epic for the Reunification of the Fatherland," is presented in a brand-new icon format, using a 3D interactive game to showcase the immortal symbol of victory on April 30th—the People's Liberation Army tanks bravely driving into the Independence Palace. This moment became a source of pride for the entire nation, symbolizing the great aspiration to completely liberate the South and achieve national reunification.
In an interview with a Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reporter, Thomas Jacob, Executive Director of the World Association of Newspapers and Press Publishers (WAN-IFRA), was deeply impressed by the innovation taking place in the Asian information and communication sector, and by the innovative spirit embodied in the entries from Vietnam.
He emphasized, "I am deeply impressed by Vietnam's achievements, especially in innovation. Last year, we witnessed a global award-winning work from Vietnam—a very special, lengthy, highly original and impactful print newspaper piece that cleverly and creatively blended print and digital formats. Congratulations!"
This is the second time this year that VietnamPlus, a subsidiary of the Vietnam News Agency, has won the WAN-IFRA Grand Prize. Previously, at the "2025 Asia Digital Media Conference" held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this April, VietnamPlus's work, "70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital: Sacred and Elegant Hanoi," was also recognized in the "Most Innovative Digital Product" category.

Tran Tien Duong, Editor-in-Chief of VietnamPlus, stated that VietnamPlus's achievement of winning two major awards from the World Association of Newspapers and Publishers (WAN-IFRA) within a year fully demonstrates the significance of its unremitting efforts and innovative spirit. These awards are prestigious in the international journalism field. These achievements not only motivate VietnamPlus's journalists and editors to continue innovating and breaking through, but also inspire them to create more interactive, content-rich, and innovative news products, while winning high praise from the international community, especially from top global media experts and leaders of news organizations.
