Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2026 "Chinese Civilization: Passing on the Torch" Taiwan Youth Study Tour and Exchange Activity was recently launched in Xiamen, Fujian Province. On the 29th, 29 teenagers from Kinmen formed the first study tour group for this activity, completing a two-day study tour in Xiamen.
During the activity, the study tour group visited the Xiamen-Kinmen Bridge (Xiamen section) command center to learn about the details of the cross-sea passage construction; visited Xiamen Caitang School for cross-strait student exchange and friendship; visited the Jiangxia Hall in Xiamen to trace their shared ancestral roots; visited the "City Chronicles: Zhongshan Road Exhibition Hall" and strolled along the century-old Zhongshan Road, exploring the shared Minnan cultural memories of both sides of the strait amidst the vibrant local life.
Many Kinmen teenagers expressed that they gained a lot from this study tour, made many new friends, and looked forward to visiting Fujian and other cities in mainland China more often for study tours and exchanges to experience the local customs and cultures.
The "Passing on the Torch of Chinese Civilization" Taiwan Youth Study Tour and Exchange Activity is a brand activity for cross-strait exchanges continuously developed by the Cross-Strait Tourism Exchange Association. Held in Fujian for three consecutive years since 2024, it has organized 592 Taiwanese youths to explore the roots of Chinese civilization in Fujian and deepen the integration and development of cross-strait culture and tourism. The next batch of Taiwanese youths will be invited to visit Fujian in subsequent batches.
Fujian is a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese and an important ancestral home for compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Overseas Chinese are a significant source of inbound tourists to Fujian. Currently, Fujian is implementing the "Welcome Home" plan for overseas Chinese and continuously building the "Refreshing Fujian, Min-Style Life" cultural tourism brand. At the same time, it is using cultural tourism as a bridge and study tours as a medium to build a more convenient and heartwarming platform for exchanges between compatriots on both sides of the strait. This "Passing on the Torch of Chinese Civilization" Taiwan Youth Study Tour and Exchange Activity is a vivid example of Fujian's efforts to deepen cross-strait cultural tourism exchanges and contribute to the construction of a demonstration zone for cross-strait integrated development.
