Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – An earthquake struck off the coast of Yilan County, Taiwan on May 1st, with strong tremors felt in Fujian Province, which is geographically close to Taiwan.
Residents in Xiamen, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, Putian, and other areas of Fujian Province posted messages on social media saying they "felt the tremors" and "felt the water in their fish tanks shaking."
According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, a magnitude 5.4 earthquake occurred at 20:39 on May 1st in the sea area of Yilan County, Taiwan (24.88°N, 122.07°E), with a focal depth of 100 kilometers. (End)
