Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 2485/QĐ-TTg, approving the allocation of VND 700 billion (approximately RMB 210 million) from the 2025 central budget reserve for emergency support of natural disaster recovery and reconstruction efforts in Hue, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak provinces.
These funds will be specifically used to assist affected residents with housing (including rebuilding collapsed and repairing damaged houses), resettlement in key disaster areas, and the restoration of key infrastructure such as education, healthcare, transportation, and water conservancy. The specific allocation is as follows: VND 100 billion for Hue, VND 100 billion for Quang Ngai, VND 300 billion for Gia Lai, and VND 200 billion for Dak Lak.
The decision explicitly states that the Ministry of Finance is responsible for the legality of the fund allocation, reported data, and recommendations. The People's Committees of all provinces and municipalities must proactively coordinate local budgets, in conjunction with central government support funds and other legitimate sources of funding, to organize and implement post-disaster recovery and reconstruction tasks in accordance with laws and regulations. At the same time, they must strengthen fund management, ensuring transparency, accurate targeting, and compliant use of funds, strictly prohibiting misappropriation, waste, and corruption. They must also report on fund usage to the relevant authorities, such as the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, as required, for compilation and reporting to the Prime Minister.
This decision shall take effect from the date of signing. The Minister of Finance, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, and the chairpersons of the relevant Provincial and Municipal People's Committees are responsible for the implementation and enforcement of this decision. (End)
