Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) As the Year of the Snake (2015) draws to a close and the Year of the Horse (2016) approaches, "Pujiang Tongzhou" (a platform for united front work in Shanghai) is launching its third annual "Connecting the Future with Pictures" column. This column reviews the fruitful achievements of Shanghai's united front in 2025 in aligning with and serving the overall interests of the nation, and promoting high-quality development.
Regarding ethnic work, Shanghai successfully completed the exhibitions in the Shanghai Experience Zone of the Chinese National Community Experience Hall, deepened the construction of interconnected communities, and released the "Guidelines for Ethnic Work in Shanghai (2025 Edition)." Nine units were selected for the proposed list of national demonstration units for ethnic unity and progress. The Shanghai Ethnic Affairs Federation successfully completed its leadership transition, continuing to support the cause of ethnic unity and progress. Meanwhile, a study and sharing event for teenagers from six regions was held, attracting over 600 young people to Shanghai. Nearly 10,000 people participated in mutual visits and exchanges between counterpart regions throughout the year, injecting youthful vitality.
In the field of religious affairs, Shanghai deepened the Sinicization of religious practices through the "Maritime Forum" brand, holding themed events, releasing relevant research findings, and awarding educational practice bases. The five major religious groups (religious groups, religious organizations, and religious institutions) focused on exploring new paths for practice, jointly conducting "Sinicization Lectures" with religious colleges to solidify talent and ideological foundations. Furthermore, in conjunction with the fire department, the city promoted the standardization of fire safety construction in religious venues, routinely inspecting and rectifying hidden dangers to strengthen safety defenses.
The rule of law and international exchanges progressed simultaneously. Shanghai launched a month-long campaign to publicize and study ethnic and religious policies and regulations, creating a favorable legal environment. Religious communities were encouraged to conduct international exchanges in a standardized manner, completing nine batches of foreign affairs receptions throughout the year, and hosting overseas cultural and calligraphy exhibitions to promote cultural exchange and serve the country's overall international strategy.
