Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Vietnamese Food Festival was held from June 12th to July 14th at Café East, located within the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel. The event aimed to promote Vietnamese specialties and delicious dishes from local and other countries.
Le Quang, Sous Chef of the New World Hoiana Hotel, stated that he brought basic ingredients from central Vietnam to give Hong Kong residents and tourists the opportunity to taste authentic flavors and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese cuisine. He also hoped that food would serve as a bridge between the people of Vietnam and Hong Kong.
During the festival, the daily evening buffet offered diners the opportunity to sample 20 dishes, including Vietnamese summer rolls, pancakes, stewed fish in a clay pot, rock beef, sour soup, and bread; traditional dishes such as pho, chicken pho, and Hanoi-style grilled fish; and desserts like mixed soup and glutinous rice balls.
Gary Wong, Chef of the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, shared that Vietnamese cuisine has a long history in Hong Kong. Currently, many Vietnamese cities are increasingly becoming attractive tourist destinations. Hong Kong residents are quite familiar with delicious Vietnamese dishes such as pho and spring rolls.
In Vietnam's diverse culinary scene, diners also have the opportunity to witness firsthand the culinary skills of Vietnamese chefs.
Hong Kong people enjoy Vietnamese cuisine, resulting in high profits for food and beverage businesses in Hong Kong. Various Vietnamese restaurants in Hong Kong have increased their imports of dry rice noodles, thin rice noodles, bamboo shoots, and other ingredients to prepare Vietnamese dishes and meet the demands of Hong Kong customers. This presents a significant opportunity for Vietnamese food and beverage businesses, as well as for Vietnam to increase its processed agricultural exports to Hong Kong. (End)
