Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Recently, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, Hua Ha, and his wife visited Siem Reap Province to host the 2026 Green Season Tourism Forum, themed "Green Season Tourism Potential, Heritage Sites and Culture," aiming to promote the upgrading and sustainable development of Cambodia's cultural tourism industry.

As an important exchange and empowerment platform for the high-quality development of Cambodia's cultural tourism industry, this forum yielded fruitful results and profound significance. Participants shared cutting-edge development achievements and practical experiences on the core issue of green and sustainable development in the tourism industry, comprehensively promoting Cambodia's unique cultural tourism resources and industrial development potential, further consolidating national consensus on cultural tourism development and fostering a strong sense of national identity. The forum emphasized the need to coordinate the protection and utilization of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and natural ecological resources, deeply aligning with Cambodia's national development philosophy of "tourism is linked to the country" and "patriotism requires knowledge of the country." This industry event not only solidified the foundation for domestic cultural tourism development but also effectively enhanced Cambodia's international cultural tourism image, showcasing the country's safe, orderly, and friendly tourism landscape to the world, and highlighting Cambodia's commitment to creating high-quality, warm, and immersive cultural tourism experiences for global tourists.

In his address, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, Hua Ha, introduced the Green Season Tourism Forum as possessing high industry value and social influence. It has been successfully held multiple times in Phnom Penh's Walking Street, garnering widespread recognition from the public and unanimous praise from international tourists. In 2026, the forum, as a core component of the "Green Season Promotion Activities," underwent a comprehensive upgrade, with breakthroughs in both its format and scale. This year's forum's first stop was in the historical and cultural city of Siem Reap, followed by a nationwide tour connecting coastal areas, the northeastern ecological zone, and other high-quality cultural and tourism destinations, culminating in a successful conclusion in the capital, Phnom Penh. Each stop will deeply explore its local cultural and tourism strengths, tailoring exclusive event themes to achieve differentiated, distinctive, and high-quality promotion.

Minister Hua Ha stated that this nationwide promotional tour has become a core engine for revitalizing Cambodia's rainy season tourism market and boosting cultural and tourism resources. It is understood that this forward-looking cultural and tourism development strategy was personally approved and implemented by Prime Minister Hun Manet, innovatively redefining the traditionally perceived off-season for tourism from May to October as the "Green Season" for cultural and tourism development, and will continue to be deepened and comprehensively promoted in 2026. Currently, the 2026 Green Season series of cultural and tourism activities officially launched on May 2nd, and all preparations are progressing smoothly.

Minister Hua Ha concluded by stating that the shift from a "low tourism season" to a "green season" is not merely a simple name change, but a profound transformation of Cambodia's cultural and tourism development thinking and a significant shift in the national industrial strategy. From May to October each year, Cambodia is lush and green, with fresh air and magnificent ecological scenery, showcasing the vibrant vitality of nature. This offers domestic and international tourists a unique and profound travel experience, making it the golden season for showcasing Cambodia's natural beauty and cultural charm.
