Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reports that during the Lunar New Year of the Horse (2026), Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, will welcome six high-end luxury cruise ships carrying thousands of international tourists, highlighting its important position in the global cruise tourism market. It is estimated that Quang Ninh Province will receive 70-90 cruise ships throughout 2026, with a tourist volume of 100,000-150,000.
The cruise ship arrivals during this Lunar New Year period will be concentrated between the 29th day of the twelfth lunar month and the 9th day of the first lunar month (February 16-25). Among them, the Bahamian-flagged "Adora Mediterranea" will visit Quang Ninh three times, docking on February 16, 20, and 25, each time carrying approximately 2,000 European tourists. On February 17 (Lunar New Year's Day), the "Seabourn Encore" and "Piano Land" will arrive simultaneously, carrying approximately 2,600 European and Hong Kong tourists. The Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold a welcoming ceremony for the first batch of international tourists on that day. On February 19 (the third day of Lunar New Year), the "Le Jacques Cartier" carrying 300 tourists will arrive, and on February 24 (the eighth day of Lunar New Year), the "Silver Nova" will arrive.
Previously, the "Celebrity Solstice," flying the Maltese flag, has already visited Quang Ninh in early 2026 with over 3,000 international tourists. As a key development area, Quang Ninh province is precisely targeting the needs of high-spending groups by innovating tourism products and services, strengthening regional cooperation, coordinating the construction of port infrastructure, and improving service quality.
The tourism market performed exceptionally well, with 2025 becoming a year of explosive growth for Quang Ninh's tourism industry. The province received 21.28 million tourists (a 12% increase year-on-year), including 4.5 million international tourists (an 18.4% increase year-on-year), generating over VND 57 trillion in tourism revenue, far exceeding initial expectations. In 2026, the province has set even higher targets, aiming to receive 22 million tourists, including 5.2 million international tourists, with total tourism revenue not less than VND 65 trillion. (End)
