  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – During the 2026 New Year's Day holiday, thanks to favorable weather and abundant cultural and tourism activities, many parts of Vietnam saw a significant increase in tourist numbers and tourism revenue, sending a positive signal for the development of the tourism industry in the new year.

  Quang Tri province received approximately 120,000 tourists (including 4,500 international tourists) during the holiday from January 1st to 4th, with total tourism revenue estimated at VND 138 billion (equivalent to RMB 36.315 million). The average hotel occupancy rate was 45%, with Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Khe Son area reaching 70%. Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and the Vo Nguyen Giap General's Tomb were popular destinations, and air and rail transport was busy at Dong Hai and Dong Ha. The local Department of Culture and Tourism stated that holiday tourism activities were safe and orderly, fully demonstrating Quang Tri's hospitable image.

  Lao Cai province received over 363,000 tourists during the holiday, with tourism revenue estimated at VND 1.5 trillion. Sapa was the most attractive area, receiving nearly 150,000 visitors (approximately 14,700 international tourists), with hotel occupancy rates reaching 95%-100%. The successful hosting of events such as the "Sapa – A Gathering of Essence" cultural space, New Year's Eve fireworks, and the Hmong Lusheng Festival, coupled with smooth and convenient cross-border tourism at the Lao Cai International Border Crossing, significantly enhanced the appeal of mountainous tourism.

  Ho Chi Minh City's tourism revenue during the four-day holiday is estimated at VND 2.632 trillion, receiving approximately 1.24 million visitors (over 75,700 international tourists), with hotel occupancy rates around 75%. Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Ben Thanh Market, various museums, and historical sites were popular, attracting large numbers of locals and tourists. Tourism collaborations with neighboring regions such as Vung Tau and Long Hai were active, with a significant increase in visitor numbers and high hotel occupancy rates in surrounding resorts.

  All regions assessed that the positive results of this New Year's holiday laid an important foundation for the tourism industry to develop new products, improve service quality, and achieve the 2026 development goals. (End)
