Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a report by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Moscow, the Russian Tourism Union (RUTI) has just released positive information regarding the tourism industry in Vietnam and some Southeast Asian countries, even though these regions have recently been hit by severe rainstorms and typhoons.
The RUTI report shows that no tour groups have been cancelled; on the contrary, tourism demand is showing strong growth ahead of the student holidays. Specifically, bookings for rooms in Vietnam and Thailand by Russian tourists increased last week and are expected to continue into April and May next year.
The report states that after Typhoon Hagupit (Typhoon No. 13), major resort areas in Vietnam have quickly stabilized. Andrey Podkolzin, Public Relations Director of the International Travel Mart (ITM) in Moscow, assessed that the situation is generally stable, and the public and relevant departments are working on post-disaster reconstruction and recovery. During the typhoon, tourists were not affected due to timely measures taken by local governments and unified leadership in emergency response.
Travel companies in Vietnam and Thailand have confirmed that the weather has had almost no impact on tourists' holiday itineraries. (End)
