Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – At the invitation of To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and his wife, Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and his wife arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on the morning of January 26, officially commencing his state visit to Vietnam from January 26 to 27.
The Vietnamese side attaches great importance to this visit. Several high-ranking officials, including Do Van Chien, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Le Hoai Trung, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Vu Thi Anh Xuan, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vice President of the State, warmly welcomed General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith and his delegation at the airport.
The Lao delegation accompanying General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife on their visit to Vietnam included: General Vilay Lakhamphong, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee; Sisay Ledemensone, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretariat, and Organization Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee; Saleumxay Kommasith, Member of the Political Bureau and Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee; Thongsaliy Mangnome, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Education and Sports of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee; Phay Phongphipak, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretariat, and Director of the General Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee; Lieutenant General Khamphay Oksam, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of National Defense of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee; and Anohap Thonnalom, Secretary of the Secretariat and Secretary of the Vientiane Municipal Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee.
In an interview with a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Laos, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam stated that this visit had extremely profound political and diplomatic significance. Following the successful national congresses of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith selected Vietnam as his first destination for a state visit. This decision fully affirms the extremely high level of political mutual trust between the two parties, countries, and their leaders. It also demonstrates that the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic alignment between Vietnam and Laos have always been a top strategic priority in their foreign policies. Like the traditional "comrades plus brothers" friendship between China and Vietnam, this is a valuable asset for both parties, countries, and peoples, and will continue to drive bilateral relations to a deeper level.
