
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The signing ceremony for the Laos-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Energy Cooperation Project (LTMS-PIP) was recently held successfully at the headquarters of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) in Bangkok, Thailand. Electricity Generating Authority of Laos (EDL), EGAT, and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) of Malaysia, as core participants, jointly signed relevant cooperation documents.
The core objective of this project is to transmit 100 MW of electricity from the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Singapore via existing transmission lines between Thailand and Malaysia. The second phase of the project, lasting two years, will closely align with the ASEAN Power Grid (APG) vision, deepening power interconnection and cooperation among ASEAN countries and contributing to the optimal allocation of regional energy resources.
Mr. Soksavat Sosuphan, Deputy Director General of Electricity Generating Authority of Laos, Mr. Narin Giovanni, Director General of EGAT, and Mr. Hasmarizal Hassan, Chief Grid Officer of Malaysia, signed the cooperation documents on behalf of their respective parties, laying a solid foundation for the project's implementation.
