Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Star Fintech Company Limited (“Umoney”) and Lao Airlines recently entered into a strategic partnership to jointly launch a modern payment gateway, providing a convenient solution for travelers to book and pay for Lao Airlines tickets.

It is understood that starting immediately, users with Umoney accounts or other bank accounts can conveniently, quickly, and securely purchase tickets through Lao Airlines' official application and website. This service opens up digital payment channels, significantly improving the efficiency and experience of ticket booking.

The cooperation agreement was officially signed on January 13, 2026, at Unitel headquarters. Mr. Ha Chien Thang, Director of Umoney, and Mr. Sitthidet Duangsitthi, Vice President of Lao Airlines, attended the signing ceremony and witnessed the implementation of the cooperation.

This agreement marks not only a significant business collaboration but also a historic milestone in Laos's aviation payment sector—the first time Umoney users and all bank account holders have been able to complete ticket payments through a fully digital system, successfully breaking down traditional payment barriers.

As the national airline of Laos and the country's largest airline, Lao Airlines operates domestic and international routes and is committed to creating a high-quality travel experience for passengers, providing service standards comparable to top international airlines, while also helping to build more convenient transportation networks in remote areas.

A Umoney representative stated that this collaboration aims to provide Lao air travelers and the entire nation with more convenient and modern payment services. With the new payment gateway in operation, users can instantly complete ticket bookings and payments, effectively improving the efficiency of travel planning, fully meeting diverse travel needs, and further promoting the digital upgrade of Laos's air travel services.
