The conference comprehensively summarized the achievements of Savannakhet, Khammouane, and Bolikhamxay provinces, as well as the 4th Infantry Brigade, in national defense and security work in 2025, and outlined key work directions for 2026.
Vilay Lakhamphong, Member of the Politburo of the Lao Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Security, and Member of the Central Committee for National Defense and Security, presided over the meeting. The chairpersons of the National Defense and Security Committees of Savannakhet, Khammouane, and Bolikhamxay provinces, the Chairman of the Party Committee and Command Committee of the 4th Infantry Brigade, and representatives from relevant departments such as the Central Office, the National Assembly, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Major General Panvilay Rasavanh, Political Director of the Savannakhet Provincial Military Region and Vice Chairman of the Provincial National Defense and Security Committee, reviewed the national defense and security work in 2025. He pointed out that under the leadership and supervision of the Party Central Committee, the government, and the National Defense and Security Committees at all levels, the central and local forces have worked together to fully implement all resolutions and deployments, achieving a series of remarkable accomplishments: the overall political and social situation in the province has remained stable, the grassroots organizational system has been continuously improved, the living conditions of officers and soldiers of the National Defense and Security Forces and people of all ethnic groups have steadily improved, and the construction of the forces has been steadily advancing towards modernization. Overall, the Party committees and command departments at all levels have performed their duties effectively, and related work has been carried out actively and orderly, successfully completing all the missions and tasks entrusted by the Party and the state.
Vilai Lacanfon, on behalf of the Party, the state, and the Central Committee for National Defense and Security, highly affirmed the achievements of the three southern provinces and one brigade over the past year. He emphasized that the National Defense and Security Forces and government organizations at all levels should further strengthen unity and cooperation, continue to thoroughly implement the Party's comprehensive national defense and security policy, and coordinate the advancement of two core strategic tasks: first, upholding the unity of defending the country and building the country, and continuously consolidating the political foundation; second, in accordance with the requirements of "four contents and four goals," comprehensively promoting rural development, and making every effort to ensure the peaceful, stable, and sustainable development of the three provinces of Savannakhet, Khammouane, and Policanxay.
