Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – During his visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from November 9th to 14th, 2025, Mr. Vannathys Simavong, Director General of the Lao News Agency (KPL), met with Ms. Vu Viet Trang, Director General of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA-TTXVN), and her delegation in Hanoi on the morning of November 13th. The meeting aimed to continue and deepen the long-standing friendly relations, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, countries, and news agencies, and to promote greater achievements in bilateral cooperation.
Ms. Vu Viet Trang warmly welcomed the Lao News Agency delegation led by Director General Vannathys Simavong, thanking them for the profound friendship and close solidarity they have brought to the Vietnam News Agency, and highly affirmed the importance of this official visit. She pointed out that over the past year, cooperation between the two news agencies has become increasingly close, yielding mutually beneficial results. During the meeting, both sides reviewed the implementation of the 2022-2025 cooperation agreement and discussed in depth the future cooperation plan for 2026-2030. In professional fields, the cooperation between the two sides has yielded significant results: the Lao News Agency continues to support the Vietnam News Agency's representative office in Laos, helping it to disseminate information efficiently and effectively through multiple channels (especially during major events in Laos), allowing the people of both countries and the international community to fully understand the friendly relations and development achievements of Laos and Vietnam.

It is reported that during the important national party anniversaries of both countries, the joint photography exhibition was widely praised by party and government leaders and the public. In the future, both sides will jointly implement the five-year cooperation protocol, focusing on promoting cooperation in three key areas: first, deepening cooperation in the application of digital news and artificial intelligence; second, sharing personnel training experience, providing mutual assistance in technical fields, and supporting each other's journalists in covering important congresses and major events in both countries; and third, exchanging delegations of leaders and journalists to strengthen the functions and roles of the two news agencies. At the same time, both sides agreed to provide information and assistance to the best of their ability during each other's short-term and long-term assignments; and to jointly ensure the accuracy and authenticity of information through close coordination in verifying unverified information and preventing and correcting false news.

Comrade Vannasin Simavong expressed his sincere gratitude to Ms. Vu Viet Trang and her team for their warm hospitality and meticulous arrangements, and highly praised the convenience, safety, and strong atmosphere of friendship during his visit to Nghe An Province and Hanoi. He fully affirmed the achievements of bilateral cooperation and stated that he would continue to encourage relevant departments of both sides to take proactive measures to ensure that all cooperation projects are implemented effectively.
The two heads of news agencies unanimously expressed their commitment to continuously deepening close cooperation, supporting and assisting each other, and making every effort to promote and strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, contributing to the common prosperity and development of both countries.
