Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a report by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondent in Laos, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (March 22, 1955 – March 22, 2025), Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam, in an interview with a reporter from the Lao News Agency (KPL) on March 25, emphasized that the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party is one of great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. Both parties were the sole leading forces in their respective countries' national liberation revolutions and are now the sole ruling parties, leading their countries towards socialism.
Minh Tam pointed out that after the founding of the Indochinese Communist Party, it raised the banner of national democratic revolution, making the Lao people's revolutionary cause an important part of the Indochinese revolution and even the world revolution. From then on, the long-standing relationship of solidarity and mutual assistance between the people of Vietnam and Laos entered a new stage of development, with the two revolutionaries fighting side by side, forming a fighting alliance.
After the founding of the Lao People's Party (now the Lao People's Revolutionary Party), the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Party entered a new stage of development. Despite their different names, the two parties share the same goals and direction, helping and relying on each other to jointly safeguard the newly achieved national independence and build a free and happy life for the people.
The Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party are the sole leading forces in their respective countries' revolutionary causes. Therefore, mentioning the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos also means mentioning the special solidarity between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; conversely, discussing the relationship between the two parties is also discussing the overall special relationship between Vietnam and Laos under the leadership of the two parties.
Based on the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Nguyen Minh Tam believes that the current international and regional situation is undergoing profound changes, affecting the relations between the two countries. Therefore, in the future, to ensure the smooth implementation of the reform causes of their respective countries and the resolutions of their respective party's national congresses, the two parties, governments, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos must continue to emphasize the importance and strategic significance of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the new situation, and always adhere to the basic principles already agreed upon by the two parties and governments.
Both sides agreed to further deepen the comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos, adhering to the principles of independence, self-reliance, equality, and mutual benefit, and fully combining the special nature of Vietnam-Laos relations with international practices, to contribute to the prosperity and development of both countries, as well as peace, stability, cooperation, and development in Southeast Asia and the world.
It is certain that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos will continue to develop in a deeper, more efficient, and pragmatic manner, bringing benefits to the people of both countries and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
