  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On March 4, 2024, President Thongloun Sisoulith of the Lao People's Democratic Republic received credentials from ambassadors of 12 countries at the Presidential Palace in Vientiane. These ambassadors will serve as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. He also presented credentials to six Lao People's Democratic Republic ambassadors stationed abroad.

  The 12 countries nominated to serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Lao People's Democratic Republic include: Mr. Yogeshwar Sangwan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a diplomatic mission in Vientiane; Mr. Luiz Manuel de Magalhães de albuquerque Veloso, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Portugal to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a diplomatic mission in the Kingdom of Thailand; Mr. Suren Baghdasaryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a diplomatic mission in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Pavlin Todorov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a diplomatic mission in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and diplomat in the Kingdom of Thailand; Mr. Kiptiness Lindsay Kimwole, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and diplomat in the Kingdom of Thailand; and Patricia Yolanda Raez. Portocarrero, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Diplomat to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mario Jose Armengol Campos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Diplomat to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Kohdayar Marri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua and Diplomat to the Lao People's Democratic Republic; Mr. Jean-Louis Robinson Richard, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Madagascar to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, at the Diplomatic Office of the People's Republic of China; Mr. Dan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, at the Diplomatic Office of the Kingdom of Thailand; and Ms. EAS Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, at the Diplomatic Office of the Kingdom of Thailand.

  On this occasion, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith welcomes and congratulates the ambassadors on their appointments as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Laos. He also expressed his belief that, with their diplomatic experience, lessons learned, and extensive knowledge, the ambassadors would help to further promote and advance friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and on a multilateral level, reaching new heights in the future. He encouraged high-level visits and people-to-people exchanges, laying a solid foundation for future consultations on cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, and other areas of potential and common interest. He further suggested that the ambassadors continue to coordinate with relevant Lao departments to promote the implementation of the Memoranda of Understanding signed by both sides. He also recommended that the ambassadors visit the provinces of Laos to understand their actual development situations and help attract and mobilize interested businesspeople and investors to invest in Laos.

  At the same time, the ambassadors expressed their gratitude for the Lao President's warm words and the warm welcome they received during their diplomatic duties in Laos, and unanimously agreed to continue promoting friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries to achieve tangible results and maximize the benefits for both countries and their people.

  In addition, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith presented credentials to the Lao ambassadors-designate, including: Mr. Amphay Kinthavong, Lao Ambassador-designate to Japan; Mr. Chhatthulung Boathisavad, Lao Ambassador-designate to Australia; Mr. Khamphing Duangthongla, Lao Ambassador-designate to Austria; Mr. Vilason Visonavong, Lao Ambassador-designate to Singapore; Mr. Sithasak Sisak, Lao Ambassador-designate to ASEAN Jakarta, Indonesia; and Mr. Pasakio Sangsomsa, Lao Ambassador-designate to Brunei.

  Furthermore, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his gratitude to the incoming ambassadors to the six countries who are about to assume diplomatic duties abroad. He asked them to continue to do their utmost and use their knowledge to contribute to the enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and its friendly countries, to promote the implementation of cooperation documents already signed by both sides and achieve tangible results, to facilitate meetings, exchanges and interactions between national leaders and peoples, to seize the cooperation and support of the international community, to focus on promoting and encouraging more foreign investors, businesspeople and tourists to come to Laos, to bring the greatest benefits to the Lao people, to make positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Laos, to help the Lao people eliminate poverty, and to lead the country out of the status of least developed country by 2026 in accordance with the established goals.
