
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 8th Congress of the Boten District Committee of the Communist Party of China in Sayaburi Province, Laos, officially opened on February 13th in the district conference hall. The opening ceremony was presided over by Comrade Bounphong Vilaysak, Secretary of the District Committee and District Head. Comrade Phongsavanh Sithavong, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Provincial Committee, and Governor of Sayaburi Province, along with invited guests and 103 representatives of the 983 party members from across the district (including 7 women), attended the meeting.
The meeting summarized and reviewed the implementation of the resolutions of the 7th Congress of the 7th District Committee over the past five years. Among these, national defense and security were given high priority, contributing to the political stability and social tranquility of the entire region. Based on four key points and four objectives, cadre recruitment was conducted, the political foundation was strengthened, and sustained socio-economic growth was achieved, with an average annual growth rate of 5.5%. Of these, the agricultural sector grew by 5%, the industrial sector by 5%, and the services sector by 6%, bringing the GDP to 509.98 billion kip, averaging 26.07 million kip per person per year. Total budget revenue remitted reached 15.5 billion kip, representing 122% of the planned target. Expenditure management achieved 11.44 billion kip, equivalent to 99%. Agricultural exports reached 56.65 billion kip, and goods imports reached 4.21 billion kip. Total social investment reached 91 billion kip. Of this, state capital accounted for 5%, foreign loans and official development assistance accounted for 6.16%, and domestic and foreign private capital accounted for 88.84%. Animal husbandry is developing towards a combination of group farming, grassland cultivation, and health care. The number of livestock has increased by an average of 8% annually, with a total output of 1310.82 tons of meat, fish, and eggs, averaging 67 kg per capita per year. Most notably, the country is able to export large livestock as a commodity, averaging 16,395 head of livestock annually, and produces over 12,000 tons of rice, averaging 568 kg per capita per year. Cash crop production is on the rise, with rubber plantations being the most notable. Currently, 418 hectares have been planted with rubber trees, accounting for 81% of the total area. This meeting will also elect the eighth district party secretary, standing committee members, secretary, deputy secretary and chairman of the district party committee, and vice chairman of the district party committee inspection committee, as well as delegates to the eighth provincial party congress. The meeting will last for two days.
