Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 19th, the Second Member Congress of the First Council of the Kunming New Media Association was successfully held in Kunming. Nearly 300 member representatives gathered to discuss the high-quality development of Kunming's new media industry. Attendees included representatives from internet companies, industry experts and scholars, and self-media influencers. Representatives from the Kunming Municipal Cyberspace Administration, the Kunming Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, the Fengning Street Party Working Committee of Wuhua District, and some provincial and municipal new media units were invited to attend the meeting.
The congress strictly followed the agenda, reviewing and approving the newly revised "Kunming New Media Association Charter (Draft)," "Kunming New Media Association Mid-Term Election Method (Draft)," "Suggested List of Chief Supervisor, Supervisors, and Tally Officers," and "Suggested List of New Council and Supervisory Board Members." Simultaneously, five positive-energy online influencers were newly admitted to the association, further strengthening its capabilities and broadening its industry coverage.
Following the general membership meeting, the association convened its eighth board meeting and supervisory board meeting, electing a new leadership team through secret ballot. Liu Jiyun (self-media account: Kunming Xiaoliu), secretary of the Kunming New Media Association Party Branch, was elected president; 15 business leaders, including Zhang Xuede, Hu Taijiang, and Guan Youyang, were elected vice presidents; and Ye Chengsong, chairman of Kunming Kaichuang Vocational Training School, was elected chairman of the supervisory board. Subsequently, upon nomination by the president and approval by the board, Chen Zao was elected secretary-general, and Yang Anna was elected deputy secretary-general. The new leadership team was officially formed, laying a solid organizational foundation for the association's future development.
In her inaugural address, newly appointed President Liu Jiyun stated that she will work hand in hand with all members to uphold the industry's original aspirations, solidify the "steering wheel" for the development of the new media industry, and adhere to a positive energy orientation; deepen member services, build a "gas station" for member growth, and help members improve quality and efficiency; focus on innovation empowerment, activate the "power source" for industry development, and promote industry iteration and upgrading; based in Kunming, act as a "disseminator" of Kunming stories and convey positive energy of the city. She emphasized that the association will always adhere to the principles of "openness, inclusiveness, collaboration, and win-win," and strive to build a warm, vibrant, and effective industry association platform to jointly write a new chapter in the development of Kunming's new media industry.
In their concluding remarks, relevant leaders from the supervising unit pointed out that this members' meeting thoroughly implemented the relevant documents and meeting spirit of the central, provincial, and municipal governments on promoting the sustainable and healthy development of associations and chambers of commerce. The Kunming New Media Association also became the first association in the city since the beginning of 2026 to promote the cross-appointment of Party branch secretaries, effectively putting the comprehensive strengthening of the Party's leadership over social organizations into practice and setting a good example for the construction of social organizations throughout the city.
