
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On March 26, 2026, a delegation of teachers and students from the Bokeo Provincial Academy of Political and Administrative Affairs of Laos visited the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone for on-site learning and experience exchange. The delegation, led by Mary Souphanthavong, Vice President of the Academy, comprised 64 teachers and students. Khamsavan Vilayphong, Director of the Special Economic Zone's Administrative Management Agency, and relevant department heads warmly received the delegation and attended the exchange activities.

This visit closely aligned with the teaching needs of the Academy's 7th Intermediate Political Theory Class's course on "Marxist-Leninist Political Economy," with "theory linked to practice" as its core principle. Through a combination of on-site research and discussions, the visit aimed to deepen teachers' and students' understanding of economic management models and the development practices of the Special Economic Zone.

During the exchange meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussionson key tasks of the Special Economic Zone. Director Khamsavan detailed the Special Economic Zone's practical experience and management measures in areas such as import and export supervision, improvement of the living environment, airport operation and management, human resource allocation, and comprehensive social security management.

Following the symposium, the delegation visited the "Golden Triangle Window" cultural tourism area, the international freight terminal, and an egg-laying chicken farm in the Special Economic Zone. The remarkable achievements of the Special Economic Zone in attracting investment, infrastructure construction, and the integrated development of cultural and tourism industries left a deep impression on all the teachers and students.

To further enhance mutual understanding, the delegation also held a friendly football match with the Special Economic Zone's administrative agencies. Both teams displayed great fighting spirit and excellent teamwork, fully demonstrating a spirit of unity, cooperation, and high morale.

Vice Dean Mary Souphanthavong stated that field trips are an important vehicle for improving the effectiveness of political theory teaching, and this visit to the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone was fruitful. The students not only gained a direct understanding of the achievements of the Special Economic Zone's modernization but also developed a deeper understanding and reflection on the strategic role of Lao Special Economic Zones in driving economic growth.
