Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com), November 1, 2025: Security measures in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone, located in Bokeo Province, Laos, have been comprehensively strengthened, and entry and exit management has become stricter. In response to rumors that "some individuals involved in criminal activities attempted to flee from Myanmar to the zone," local law enforcement agencies are continuously intensifying various inspections to maintain regional security and stability.

Media visits to the area observed a significant decrease in population activity compared to before. Recently, authorities have conducted multiple building inspections and routine patrols. Many individuals suspected of online illegal activities left before enforcement actions began, while others were apprehended and dealt with according to law.

It is understood that due to ongoing crackdowns in Myawaddy and surrounding areas of Myanmar, the possibility that some individuals involved in criminal activities may have attempted to transfer through neighboring regions cannot be ruled out. However, multiple sources indicate that the area surrounding the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone is currently under strict management. Lao military and police conduct routine patrols along the border, and people entering or leaving the zone must undergo multiple identity verifications and security checks. The likelihood of the individuals involved in the aforementioned rumors successfully entering the zone is extremely low.

Analysts point out that the region borders Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, with numerous natural passageways. While it cannot be ruled out that some individuals might attempt to use it as a transit route to other countries, Lao authorities have further strengthened their oversight of border crossings by land and sea to prevent the movement of illegal personnel.

Currently, the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone is continuously promoting the development of its cultural tourism and port economy, gradually reducing the space for illegal activities through industrial upgrading, and striving to improve the overall image of the region.
