Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2026 "My Vietnam 2026" running race will kick off on August 23rd at the Dong Anh Vietnam Exhibition Center in Hanoi, attracting approximately 15,000 domestic and international athletes.
The event, organized by Vietnam Zaha Joint Stock Company, is one of the key sporting activities celebrating the 81st anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2026).
At a press conference held on June 22nd, the organizing committee announced that the race will feature four distance categories: 42km, 21km, 9.2km, and 2.9km, catering to professional runners, fitness enthusiasts, and families.
A major highlight of this season is the appointment of renowned track and field athlete Nguyen Van Lai as the event's ambassador. Nguyen Van Lai won six gold medals in the 5000m and 10000m events at the Southeast Asian Games and 13 times in the 10000m at the National Games. The organizing committee stated that they hope to use Nguyen Van Lai's example to convey the spirit of perseverance, resilience, and pushing limits to the Vietnamese running community.
In addition to enhancing the professional quality of the event, the organizing committee actively promotes sustainable development and implements a "green running race" model. All water supply stations will strictly implement waste sorting and collection, and all materials used in the race will be effectively recycled to reduce environmental impact and enhance runners' awareness of ecological protection.
