With the Cambodian New Year approaching, hotel bookings in Siem Reap are surging.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – With the Cambodian New Year (Songkran) approaching, hotel and guesthouse bookings in Siem Reap province are showing a significant upward trend. However, despite the surge in demand, local hotel room rates have remained relatively stable.

  According to Mr. Bun Thoeun, a sales staff member at the La Residence Blanc D’Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap, on April 25th, the hotel's room bookings have increased by approximately 50%, primarily driven by local tourists. Notably, the hotel room rate remains at around US$40 per night.

  Ms. Dany, a staff member at the La Palmeraie d’Angkor Charming Hotel in Siem Reap, also stated that hotel bookings in Siem Reap city are exceptionally high, and she anticipates the hotel will be nearly fully booked during the upcoming Angkor Songkran celebrations. Ms. Theavy, a staff member at the Rambutan Hotel & Resort, similarly confirmed this trend, noting a significant increase in hotel bookings before the New Year holiday, with strong demand from both domestic and international tourists.

  This year's Angkor Songkran celebrations will be themed "Celebrating the New Year with Smiles," aiming to showcase the brilliant heritage, unique traditional culture, and rich customs of Khmer civilization through a variety of activities. The three-day event, held from April 14th to 16th in the Angkor complex, will offer visitors a spectacular cultural feast.
