Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2024 "Mongolia Day" celebrations were held on December 20th at the Sofitel Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The event was co-hosted by UNGRachana, Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and J. Byambasuren, Mongolian Ambassador to Laos.
In his remarks, Ambassador J. Byambasuren expressed his expectation for further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, noting that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1960, the traditional friendship and cooperation between Mongolia and Cambodia have continuously deepened, not only at the bilateral level but also in international and regional affairs. He also revealed exciting news: an honorary consulate for Mongolia is expected to be established in Cambodia soon, which will further strengthen ties between the two countries and throughout the region.

Furthermore, the ambassador emphasized the importance of Mongolia's commitment to strengthening traditional ties with its Asian partners and the friendly cooperative relations among ASEAN member states. Statistics show that as of the first nine months of 2024, Mongolia had conducted trade with 154 countries and regions worldwide, with a cumulative trade volume of US$20.4 billion. Of particular note is Mongolia's successful promotion of strategic partnerships with its two important neighbors—the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China—and its consolidation of these relationships through frequent high-level visits.

UNG Rachana, Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, expressed great satisfaction with the event and highly praised the long-standing and positive exchanges between the two countries. He noted that 64 years have passed since the establishment of formal diplomatic relations, and next year will mark the 65th anniversary. "We are very pleased to see both sides further strengthen their traditional ties on this basis," UNG Rachana concluded.
