Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the morning of April 6th, a serious hit-and-run case occurred in Chon Khao Lu District, Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. The 32-year-old suspect, Ben Padizha (transliteration), drove his private car and rammed into two vehicles. He not only refused to cooperate with law enforcement but also violently rammed police officers with his vehicle. After repeated warnings proved ineffective, police decisively fired a shot, puncturing the tires, and successfully subdued him.
According to police reports, Ben Padizha was driving on the road when, for unknown reasons, he collided with two other vehicles. After the accidents, he did not stop to accept the consequences but instead sped away from the scene. Kampong Cham Provincial Police Chief, Heng Vuthi, explained that after receiving the report, local police quickly deployed officers to intercept him, but the suspect ignored police orders, refused to stop, and recklessly rammed the checkpoint.
During the conflict, the suspect's violent behavior resulted in injuries to two police officers and varying degrees of damage to one police car and three motorcycles. Chief Shinwodi emphasized that, given the suspect's reckless actions had seriously threatened the lives of law enforcement officers and nearby residents, police took coercive measures in accordance with the law after repeated warnings went unheeded, in order to prevent the situation from escalating further.
During the operation, police fired three shots, accurately hitting the tires of the vehicle involved in the accident, forcing it to stop. Officers then quickly moved in and subdued Benpadiza, taking him back to the police station for further investigation.
Currently, the two injured officers have been taken to the hospital for treatment and are not in life-threatening condition. The suspect, Benpadiza, is being interrogated by police, who will prosecute him for his traffic accident and violent assault on police officers, and will severely punish him according to the law.
