Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the afternoon of March 2nd, the Investment Committee of the Council for the Development of Cambodia held a special review meeting on the "Single Window" system. The meeting, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Investment Committee, Xie Wudi, focused on further optimizing the investment access environment and accelerating the planning, establishment, and implementation of Key Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

Representatives from relevant Cambodian government ministries and agencies, as well as the Phnom Penh Municipal Government, participated in the meeting, conducting in-depth reviews of two strategically significant SEZ proposals and concluding discussions on related matters.

The meeting focused on reviewing and advancing two proposals: the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications SEZ and the Amrita Development Company SEZ. Both projects have clear positioning, focusing on the development of high-value-added industries.

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications SEZ, located in the Chroy Changvar district of Phnom Penh, covers approximately 90 hectares. The project centers on digital technology research and development and information and communication infrastructure construction, aiming to create Cambodia's first benchmark digital industry park.

The Amrita Development Company Special Economic Zone, located in Senlong commune, Senkaku district, Phnom Penh, covers approximately 60 hectares. It focuses on developing agricultural product processing, food processing, and packaging industries, along with related R&D activities, aiming to enhance the international competitiveness of Cambodian agricultural products.

Secretary-General Chea Wu Di emphasized at the meeting that the two special economic zone projects are important vehicles for Cambodia to attract high-quality foreign investment. By concentrating advanced infrastructure in specific areas and implementing favorable support policies, the industrial agglomeration effect can be further strengthened. The establishment and implementation of the special economic zones will not only promote the transformation of Cambodia's economic structure through technology transfer but also create a large number of high-skilled jobs for the local labor market.

With the steady progress of the two special economic zone proposals, Cambodia's industrial layout in the digital economy and modern industry sectors is beginning to take shape. Next, the Council for the Development of Cambodia will continue to coordinate resources from all parties to ensure a smooth transition from the planning and review stage to the construction and implementation stage, while creating a more efficient and transparent one-stop service system for investors.
