Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – In response to the recent sustained armed aggression by the Thai government and military against Cambodian territory, all levels of Cambodian state organs, legislative bodies, government departments, religious groups, and various social organizations have issued a series of stern statements condemning Thailand's barbaric act of using advanced weaponry to attack civilians and cultural heritage, and urging the international community to intervene urgently.
The Cambodian Senate stated that the Thai armed forces used artillery, F-16 and T-50 fighter jets to indiscriminately attack innocent civilians in border provinces, resulting in numerous casualties and displacement of people.
The Cambodian National Assembly further disclosed that Thailand's aggression has escalated significantly, with its attacks penetrating 80 to 90 kilometers into Cambodian sovereign territory, and even employing prohibited or heavy weapons such as warships, poison gas, and cluster bombs. The National Assembly emphasized that this "blatant aggression" not only violates international law but also causes unprecedented damage to numerous cultural sites, including the World Heritage Sites of Preah Vihear, Wat Phagpa, and Wat Tamong.
"In modern civilized society, no country is above the law. Aggression under the pretext of 'security' is a clear crime," the parliamentary statement solemnly warned. "If the international community remains indifferent, it is tantamount to condoning the 'law of the jungle.' If 'might makes right' prevails in Southeast Asia, the security of any small country in the world will be jeopardized in the future."
The Cambodian Ministry of Royal Affairs issued a statement on the 25th, detailing the inhumane acts committed by the Thai military from December 7th to 25th, 2025. The statement specifically pointed out that Thailand's actions seriously violated the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Declaration previously signed by the prime ministers of Cambodia and Thailand, witnessed by US President Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the rotating chair of ASEAN.
The Ministry of Royal Affairs called on the international community to impose severe sanctions on Thailand for its repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement and its illegal actions that undermine regional peace and stability, and demanded that Thailand bear all legal responsibilities arising therefrom.
Cambodian religious leaders also issued a joint statement expressing extreme indignation at the Thai military's shelling of temples, schools, and hospitals.
The statement points out that Wat Ta Phet, Wat Tamong, and the Preah Vihear, a World Heritage Site, are not only sacred religious sites in Cambodia but also priceless treasures left to humanity by the Khmer ancestors. Thailand's military actions are an insult to these sacred sites, a desecration of human civilization, and demonstrate extreme immorality.
All sectors of Cambodian society unanimously demand that Thailand immediately and unconditionally cease all military operations on Cambodian territory; that Thailand be held accountable for the destruction of infrastructure and cultural heritage and the resulting civilian casualties; and call on the United Nations, parliaments of various countries, and the international community to pressure Thailand to uphold international law and jointly defend regional peace and justice.
