Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodian National Police Deputy Commissioner General and Phnom Penh Police Chief Chuon Narin recently disclosed that police successfully searched and seized a vehicle carrying "Fake Base Station Transceiver Station" (FATS) equipment on the morning of December 6th.

It is understood that this fake base station equipment is suspected of being used to interfere with public communication networks, which not only disrupts social order and affects the quality of communication services, but also threatens public privacy and data security, and even endangers national security. Chuon Narin revealed through social media that the group involved is composed of both foreign and Cambodian citizens. They use vehicle-mounted fake base station equipment to carry out their activities, with the core objective of disrupting and damaging public order. Police also seized a batch of key materials for the equipment to be installed.

Chuon Narin especially urged the public to be vigilant, particularly reminding car rental operators not to rent vehicles to such groups or participate in their activities. He emphasized that once the police have conclusive evidence, they will intercept and arrest those involved according to law, and the individuals and equipment used will be transferred to the prosecution.
