Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Recently, police in Phnom Penh's Sen Sok and Por Sen Chey districts jointly cracked a case of illegal detention, torture, and extortion targeting a Bangladeshi national, rescuing one victim and uncovering a suspected cybercrime den, effectively combating transnational criminal activities.

On February 28, Sen Sok district police, after receiving a report, swiftly raided a residence in Khlong district. Investigation revealed that four Bangladeshi suspects were involved in illegal detention, torture, and extortion of US$5,000 from the victim. The operation successfully rescued a Bangladeshi man who had been subjected to long-term persecution, arrested two suspects on the spot, and two others remain at large.

According to the victim's confession, he had previously been imprisoned in a cyber fraud den in Khlong 2 district, Por Sen Chey district. Based on this crucial lead, in the early hours of March 1st, Sen Sok District Chief Socangyan personally led a joint police operation to clear the suspected location.

Upon on-site inspection, the location was found to be a three-story row house. Fourteen Bangladeshi men were found inside, only four of whom possessed valid passports; the remaining ten lacked valid identification documents. Police seized three computers, 29 mobile phones, and other communication devices. Although no individuals engaged in online fraud were apprehended on the spot, the personnel and equipment at the location strongly suggested it was a potential cybercrime operation.

Currently, the arrested suspects and the undocumented individuals found at the scene have been transferred to relevant departments for further investigation. Police are actively pursuing two remaining suspects and will maintain a high-pressure crackdown on all types of transnational crime. (End)
