
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2025 New Archaeological Achievements in China were released on February 4th at the Archaeological Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held in Beijing. Six major archaeological sites from Hebei, Xinjiang, Henan, and Shandong provinces were selected.
These six sites are: Xinmiaozhuang Paleolithic Site in Yangyuan County, Hebei Province; Peiligang Stone Age Site in Xinzheng City, Henan Province; Zhengjiagou Hongshan Culture Site in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province; Husta Bronze Age Site in Wenquan County, Xinjiang Province; Langyatai Warring States-Qin-Han Period Site in Qingdao City, Shandong Province; and Badamu Eastern Jin-Tang Period Tombs in Turpan City, Xinjiang Province.
The shortlisted projects and important research findings for the 2025 New Archaeological Achievements in China were also released at the same time. The seven shortlisted projects are: the Jidao Late Paleolithic Site Complex in Fusui County, Guangxi; the Doushan Neolithic Site in Wuxi, Jiangsu; the Niuluchongcheng Late Neolithic to Shang Dynasty Site in Gongcheng County, Guangxi; the Zhongcun Xia-Shang Period Site in Xiyang County, Shanxi; the Yue State Capital Site in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang; the Zhengpingfang Site of the Sui-Tang Luoyang City in Luoyang City, Henan; and the Dongta Temple Site in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang.

Ten key research findings include: Dai Xiangming's "What is the Central Plains—A New Understanding of the Central Plains Cultural Region from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age"; Zhang Xu's "From Aggregation to Integration: Population Interaction in Central and Southern Inner Mongolia during the Eastern Zhou Period"; Zhang Chi's "Who Planned and Built Lingjiatan?"; Fu Qiaomei et al.'s "Yunnan Prehistoric Genome Reveals the Ancestral Correlation between Tibetans and Austroasiatic Languages"; Li Haichao's "Sanxingdui: The Rise of Civilization as Seen from Resource Interaction Networks"; Zhang Changping's "On the Stages of Early Bronze Artifacts in the Erligang Culture"; Zhu Fenghan's "The Evolution of Bronze Culture during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties"; Liu Dawei's "Interdisciplinary Study of Tang Dynasty Textile-Dyed Fabrics Unearthed in Dulan"; Tong Tao's "A Study of the Qin 'Gathering Herbs in Kunlun' Stone Inscription"; and Gao Xing et al.'s "300,000-Year-Old Wooden Tools Discovered at the Gantangjing Site in Southwest China."
