Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Du Xueyi, member of the Procuratorial Committee and Director of the Economic Crime Procuratorial Department of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, stated during an interview with the Director of the Supreme People's Procuratorate on February 4th that the Supreme People's Procuratorate is punishing smuggling crimes according to law, safeguarding national security, and serving a higher level of opening up to the outside world. From January to November 2025, procuratorial organs nationwide prosecuted 3,632 cases involving 8,972 individuals for smuggling crimes, effectively safeguarding national security and national interests.
Du Xueyi stated that in 2026, the Economic Crime Procuratorial Department will thoroughly implement the deployment requirements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee regarding "expanding high-level opening up" and "maintaining the multilateral trading system," punishing smuggling crimes according to law, strengthening supervision and guidance of major and sensitive cases such as rare earth smuggling, strengthening judicial cooperation in anti-smuggling efforts, serving the operation of the Hainan Free Trade Port, and more effectively safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests.
