Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A training course for legal professionals from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Department of Justice and held in Hong Kong for the first time, was held in Hong Kong on the 3rd. Nearly 40 legal professionals from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao participated in the training.

Zhang Guojun, Deputy Secretary for Justice of the HKSAR Government, Chen Yongkang, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Justice, and Qiu Xianzhe, Deputy Director of the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, attended the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Zhang Guojun stated that the three-day course, organized by the Hong Kong International Legal Talent Training Academy, has three main characteristics: a focus on core issues, rich site visits, and thematic practical sharing. He encouraged participants to actively ask questions and exchange ideas to deepen their understanding of each other's systems and practices.

Zhang Guojun said that promoting the rule of law in the Greater Bay Area requires legal professionals from the three regions to deeply understand the advantages of the three legal jurisdictions, promote cooperation through enhanced understanding, and thus achieve common development. This is also the consensus of the Joint Conference of Legal Professionals of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Since its establishment, the joint conference mechanism has actively promoted in-depth legal exchanges and practical cooperation among the three regions, yielding fruitful results. This course is a key training program under the joint conference mechanism, hosted in rotation by the three regions.

Zhang Guojun stated that the Hong Kong International Legal Talent Training Academy will continue to leverage Hong Kong's bilingual (Chinese and English) common law system and international framework to contribute to the nation's international legal development. (End)
