Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – China's first 7-ton-class Changying-8 cargo delivery drone successfully completed its maiden flight in Zhengzhou, Henan Province on March 31.
On the same day, the Changying-8 cargo delivery drone climbed to a height of only 280 meters, successfully completing key verification tests of various systems, including intelligent flight control, avionics, electromechanical systems, power and fuel systems, and flight quality. After approximately 30 minutes of flight, it landed precisely and smoothly, successfully completing its maiden flight mission.
This model was independently developed by Beijing Northern Changying UAV Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO). It is the first 7-ton-class unmanned cargo delivery platform in China to pass real-world verification, and is hailed as an "aerial heavy truck." It fills the gap in China's 7-ton-class cargo drone platform and marks a significant leap forward in China's key independent technologies in the field of high-end intelligent aviation logistics equipment.
The Changying-8 cargo delivery drone is equipped with an 18-cubic-meter ultra-large through-type cargo hold, with a takeoff weight of 7 tons and a maximum effective payload of 3.5 tons, capable of meeting diverse loading needs such as conventional materials, fresh food cold chain, and emergency equipment. The aircraft has a maximum range of over 3,000 kilometers and can be used in diverse scenarios such as emergency communications, weather modification, border patrol, electronic reconnaissance, and e-commerce delivery.
