This export achievement was jointly accomplished by 55 major Cambodian rice exporters, marking a steady increase in the recognition and market share of Cambodian rice in the international market.
The report shows that Cambodia's global rice market layout is becoming increasingly diversified, with the ASEAN market becoming its fastest-growing core engine. In the first two months of the year, Cambodia exported 112,100 tons of rice to the five ASEAN member states, with a trade value of US$41.89 million, ranking first among all regions in terms of export volume. The European market continued to maintain its core position in the high-end market, with 64,100 tons of rice exported to 28 European countries, generating US$46.22 million in foreign exchange earnings through high value-added products. China, as an important strategic partner market, imported 51,400 tons of rice from Cambodia in the first two months, with a total import value of US$36.31 million. In addition, Cambodia exported a total of 20,200 tons of rice to 16 countries and regions in Africa, the Middle East, North America, and Oceania, generating US$18.45 million in revenue.
In terms of export categories, fragrant rice continued to lead the way due to its superior quality, accounting for 59.16% of total exports and firmly maintaining its competitive advantage in the international market.
It is worth noting that, in addition to processed rice products, Cambodia also exported 873,900 tons of paddy rice during the same period, with an export value of approximately US$196 million. Rice, as a key raw material export, has further expanded the overall scale of Cambodia's agricultural exports.
Cambodia's rice exports have demonstrated strong resilience and market vitality in recent years. Looking back at 2025, the country's total rice exports reached 940,300 tons, a significant increase of 45% compared to 640,000 tons in 2024, with total export value exceeding US$600 million.
The impressive start to 2026 indicates that Cambodia's rice industry is accelerating towards higher quality and larger scale.
