
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) March 1st – YADEA, a Chinese smart electric motorcycle brand, officially completed and commenced production at its smart manufacturing plant in the emerging industrial zone of Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam. At the event, YADEA Vietnam simultaneously launched its flagship electric motorcycle, the YADEA Osta, targeting the local market, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Grab Vietnam to jointly support Vietnam's green transportation transformation.
It is reported that the first phase of the YADEA Vietnam factory represents an investment of over US$100 million, covering an area of 232,200 square meters, with an initial annual production capacity of 1 million vehicles. After full operation, production capacity will gradually increase to over 2 million vehicles per year. In terms of employment, the project will initially create approximately 1,000 jobs, which can increase to 3,000 as production capacity expands, injecting vitality into the local labor market.
The newly launched flagship model, the YADEA Osta, adopts a neo-retro design style, with its core highlight being a maximum range of 180 kilometers on a single charge, precisely matching the travel needs of Vietnamese consumers.
At the completion ceremony, Mai Son, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh Province, stated that the completion of the Yadea intelligent manufacturing plant and the launch of its new products are a model of efficient collaboration between the local government and enterprises. This demonstrates both Bac Ninh Province's excellent investment environment and Yadea's strategic vision. He emphasized that Yadea's development philosophy of focusing on green transportation is highly aligned with Vietnam's energy transition, emission reduction, and sustainable development trends, which Bac Ninh Province fully affirms.
Mai Son also encouraged the company to continue using Bac Ninh Province as a strategic base in its global value chain, increase R&D investment, deepen industrial collaboration with local Vietnamese enterprises, gradually improve localization rates, and build an internationally competitive electric vehicle industry ecosystem. He also suggested that the company prioritize talent cultivation and technology transfer to cultivate a high-quality local skilled workforce.
Regarding government support, Mai Son pledged that Bac Ninh Province will uphold the concept of a "constructive-service-oriented government," working hand in hand with enterprises to continuously optimize the investment environment, upgrade infrastructure, and deepen administrative reforms, providing stable, transparent, and efficient business guarantees for companies like Yadea.
The strategic partnership between Yadea Vietnam and Grab Vietnam focuses on promoting the widespread adoption of electric motorcycles among ride-hailing drivers, thereby facilitating the green transformation of Vietnam's transportation sector. (End)
